Believe it or not it is time to start thinking about next year here at the ELC! On Tuesday, January 9th we are opening our doors to all potential families to come and see what our classrooms and program is all about!
We will have approximately 70 peer slots for the 2024-2025 school year. In order to be eligible as a peer, parents will need to sign up for a screening in either February or March and complete an application.
For our families who will be transitioning from Early Intervention into our school, our special education staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
We can't wait to see new faces and younger siblings of past and present ELC students in January!
hank you to all who have donated to the food drive! It is awesome seeing our table so full! On the weather front, it was quite chilly this week! Please remember to label coats, hats, and gloves for your children. With 250 students it is difficult to figure who dropped what if it was not seen. I know that seems too chilly for recess but it is important for students to get outside to burn some energy as well as to learn how to use playgound equipment and the play skills for outdoor activities.
Next Saturday is the holiday shop that the PTO is putting on. They are looking for volunteers for this event. The link is inside this week's ELC Panda Press. The staff of room 203 is being spotlighted this week! I hope you are enjoying learning about each staff member! I know we are!

Next week is a short week for us due to professional development, elementary school conferences and Veteran's Day. Our students all became Super Friends on Monday with the start of our parade and the first paw (Kind) being handed out. Every paw that we get back gets stapled to our Super Friends board and the students get to put a pom pom in a jar. When the jar is filled up we are going to have a surprise for them! So make sure we catch those acts of kindness and put them on the paw to bring to school!
As a reminder the temperatures are dipping down but we are still going outside for recess until the feels like temperature is below 25 degrees. Please make sure your student has a coat and appropriate clothing. We understand that this might be a battle at home but please make sure the coat is at least in the backpack.

The warm weather makes it hard to believe that November starts next week! We have had lots of fun with Fall activities this month! Making bats with our feet, Spookly the Square Pumpkin, Pumpkin Jack continues, investigating gourds, counting with acorns, etc.

A short but exciting week! Fall is officially here! Please make sure you dress your students accordingly in layers. It may be chilly in the AM and hot in the PM or vice versa! We will go out to recess even when it is chilly out so it is important to make sure your students bring jackets/sweatshirts, hats, and gloves if needed.
