Next Week and Beyond

We have five days of school next week with an altered MCAS Testing schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday. The MCAS schedule will be reviewed in X block. Please see the calendar below for the even/odd day schedule.

Trimester 3 Starts Monday

Believe it or not, trimester three starts Monday. We encourage all students to check Aspen this weekend as almost all students have new classes starting. Aspen will let you know the room location of your new class and your teacher.

Trimester Two Report Cards

Trimester two is now over. We plan to publish report cards via Aspen on Wednesday, March 26. Here’s how to access the reports once they are released:

STEP 1: Log into your Aspen family account (https://ma-attleboro.myfollett.com) and click the “Pages” top tab.

STEP 2: Find the Published Reports heading on the main page.

STEP 3: Click the Report Card under that heading.

Grade 10 ELA MCAS is Next Week

On Tuesday and Wednesday, all grade 10 students will be taking the ELA MCAS exam. Read below for important information:

  • HERE is a student friendly test room location document that shares where most grade 10 students will be testing.  A handful of students will be testing in rooms other than those indicated on this chart.  Those students will receive a pass in X block before they report to testing.

  • Bring your Chromebook. Students have school-issued Chromebooks and they must bring them fully charged on each testing day. It is also recommended that students bring their chargers.

  • This is a mandatory test for grade 10 students. There is no opt out.

  • MCAS provides opportunities for our students.

    • The state will grants the MCAS-based Adams and Koplik scholarships.

    • Scores will help determine eligibility for honors and AP courses.

    • Scores will help determine honors diploma eligibility.

  • MCAS results will still count in the state’s accountability system. AHS will be evaluated as a school on how our students do on MCAS.

  • MCAS data will be used to help determine academic interventions for students and guide curricular and instructional decisions so we can better educate our students.

Sophomores:  We believe you all have the ability to be successful on this test. Your teachers have worked hard to prepare you for this moment, and we’re sure that you have worked hard as well. Being successful on this test is a way for you to demonstrate BLUE PRIDE to yourself, your family, your teachers, and the whole school community. We all believe in you!
