Next Week and Beyond
We have five days of school next week with a half day on Friday, March 21. Lunch will not be served on the half day. Please see the calendar below for the even/odd day schedule.
Trimester Two Grades Are Closing
Friday, March 21, is the last day of trimester two. Please see our prior updates regarding our expectations regarding missing/late work and assessment retakes. We want everyone to have a positive end of trimester experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your student’s teachers.
Koplik Certificate of Mastery
Earlier today all grade 12 students (and their families) who are eligible for the Koplik Certificate of Mastery (and corresponding tuition credit for certain MA public colleges and universities) received an email which includes an interest form. The process is different this year. People interested in applying must complete the form before April 15. Any senior who believes they are eligible and did not receive today’s email should contact their guidance counselor.
AP Fee Reminder
All students taking an AP test should have received an invoice for their testing fee. Please remit payment within the two week window of receiving your invoice. Thank you to all who have already paid!
Night to Discover Recap
Thank you to all the families that were able to join us at this year’s Night to Discover. It was exciting to see the multiple displays and methods of teaching and learning that occur within Attleboro Public Schools. The pride and excitement from all students while sharing their accomplishments was awesome!
Student vs. Staff Basketball Game
The students took the win at our Staff vs. Students basketball game this past Thursday with a thrilling 93 - 86 victory! Here are some pictures of the students running our staff up and down the court!

CTE Update
Engineering students, Tatum Gaouette and Megan Martin, have been named Industry-Recognized Winners for 2024-25 for their extraordinary work combining rapid prototyping, electronics, computer science, and music into a "decades radio". Students from around the state submitted mid-year projects back in January for review by professionals in the STEM industry through a program called Student Industry Connects facilitated by the One8 Applied Learning Hub. One winner was declared for each program pathway or category, and Attleboro High School clinched the PLTW Rookie of the Year Award as it is only its second year implementing the Project Lead The Way Engineering curriculum.
Tatum and Megan's full project submission can be viewed here. Some feedback they received includes:
“You demonstrated a strong understanding of electrical engineering, programming, and 3D modeling. . . The way you iterated on your design, refining both function and aesthetics was particularly impressive."
“I liked the overall design methodology you both used - it was clearly explained, with the pros and cons of the different ideas, and the drawings really helped to visualize and understand. I liked the use of photographs.”
“Your project reminds me a lot of how engineers use CAD software and rapid prototyping to develop and refine real-world products before manufacturing.”
“I especially want to applaud your attention to detail and your desire to make the product not only appealing and functional but also easy to operate.”
“The project work and skills you've demonstrated here would serve you well in an engineering career. Excellent work Megan and Tatum!”
Bistro Hours
The Blue Pride Bistro Will be open next Wednesday and Thursday!
Reminder: MCAS Update
With the first large-scale MCAS test approaching in March, we wanted to clarify a few points in light of MA Ballot Question #2 passing in November. We encourage families, especially those who have grade 9th and 10th graders, to discuss these points with their students.
All grade 10 (ELA and math) and 9 (science) students are still required to take the test. This is mandatory. There is no opt out.
MCAS still provides opportunities for our students.
The state will still grant the MCAS-based Adams and Koplik scholarships.
Scores will help determine eligibility for honors and AP courses.
Scores will help determine honors diploma eligibility.
MCAS results will still count in the state’s accountability system. AHS will still be evaluated as a school on how our students do on MCAS.
MCAS data will be used to help determine academic interventions for students and guide curricular and instructional decisions so we can better educate our students.
We know students have been making great strides this year. Please encourage them to do their best. The ELA test is first up and begins on March 25. Note: we will be periodically running this update in the lead up to upcoming exams: March (grade 10 ELA), May (grade 10 math), and June (grade 9 science).
