1.10.25
Next Week and Beyond
We have five days of school next week with a half day for students on Friday. Lunch will not be served on the half day. Please see the even/odd calendar below for additional details.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Conferences provide an opportunity for parents/guardians to meet with teachers. Conferences are in-person at AHS on Thursday, January 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
This year appointments will be made through SignUp Genius. Here’s how to do so:
Use Aspen (or talk to your child) to look up the teachers you want to visit
Go to our SignUp Genius portal: https://www.signupgenius.com/org/AHSConferencePilot#/
Find teachers by last name by scrolling or using the search bar
Once the name is found, click on it, and then select the desired appointment time
Be sure to click “save and continue” at the bottom of the page once the time is selected
Submit your name, your email, and your student’s name to finalize your appointment
Complete this process for each teacher you want to see
Important Notes
Appointments are five minutes in length
You may want to allow travel time between appointments
If you have any questions, please contact your student’s assistant principal or a member of our administrative team.
Course Requests and Student Appeals
Grade 9-11 students who requested advanced level coursework (Honors or AP), but did not receive a teacher recommendation may submit an appeal application. The deadline to complete the application is Wednesday, January 29. This is a firm deadline and no exceptions can be made as the school must move forward with building our schedule for next year. Students and families should refer to THIS DOCUMENT for specific details regarding the appeals process.
CTE Update
The Bistro will be open on Wednesday and Thursday of next week. They will not be open on the half day on Friday, January 17th.
Attleboro High School was recently awarded a CTE Curriculum Frameworks and Competency Based Implementation grant from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education totaling $112,024. This competitive grant award will support Attleboro High School in implementing the Career and Technical Education Frameworks using competency-based systems; systems that intentionally and meaningfully map teaching, learning, and assessment to ensure students gain the skills and knowledge necessary for college, career, and civic engagement. Attleboro High School will engage with DESE, students, families, and other stakeholders to implement systems that integrate career-connected learning with grade level aligned math, English, and science content. Attleboro High School is excited to be participating in the competency-based CTE curriculum development program. We believe that this approach will provide students with clear pathways to gain essential skills and knowledge, fostering a more engaging and relevant learning experience.
BPAC Fundraiser
Krispy Kreme donuts are one of a kind, but hard to find. Be on the lookout for a one of a kind fundraiser coming soon!
News from our Tech Department
Please be aware that a scam email is being circulated through the student’s Gmail accounts re: job opportunities. This is a phishing scam attempting to get students to participate in a check laundering scam or to obtain personal information such as passwords, social security numbers and banking information. We have taken steps to mitigate the spread of this email in our system. At no time will the district send out mass emailing’s re: jobs or other opportunities without prior notice from school administrators. These emails would be sent by district staff only. If you receive a suspected SPAM email from another student or staff account, please send it to the SPAM folder in your GMAIL account, this will let the Technology Department and the google system know about it and help us mitigate the threat. SPAM emails can be easily identified as they may originate from foreign countries and contain poor spelling and grammar. Never respond to SPAM email messages. If you have corresponded with someone who sent the email, stop all communication with the person. Be sure to contact your bank and local authorities if you have conducted any transactions involving money with them.
