AHS had a wonderful first week! Routines and class locations are getting easier every day and students' smiles and positive feedback are being seen and heard. We held our first fire evacuation drill this morning and the AFD was impressed with the efficiency and speed of our very large school. Please talk to your child about things they felt went well this week. Also encourage your child to get involved with the many clubs and activities that will be starting up over the next few weeks. Our goal is for every student to feel connected to the  opportunities and interests that live here at AHS.

Back To School Night

Our annual Back to School Night is next Thursday, September 12, starting at 6:00. The purpose of this evening is for parents and guardians to be introduced to their student’s teachers as well as receive information about the courses in which their student is enrolled.

  • Parking is available in the lots on either side of the building as well as behind the building. Please do not park on neighborhood streets.

  • Please enter through our main doors at the front of the building (by the flag poles) or through the cafeteria doors (under the big Blue A) at the back of the building.

  • It is recommended that you bring a screenshot or paper copy of your student’s schedule to follow. Please talk to your student about their classes and the order in which they take them!

  • Here is a map of the entire building: AHS MAP.

  • The intended audience for this evening is parents/guardians; families may bring children if that is what’s best for them.

  • The Admin Team will be available in common spaces and in House Offices (second floor) throughout the evening.

  • If you need an elevator, there is one in the main lobby that is accessible to all floors.

  • Here’s the class schedule for the evening:

School Picture Day

On Wednesday, September 18, Attleboro High School, in partnership with Lifetouch, will be holding our annual picture day. Order forms will be available for students in their X-Block class, their house office, the Student Activities Office, the Balcony and the Principal's office. All students will be required to have a picture taken for use in Aspen.  We look forward to seeing those smiles!

Grade 11 Students: PSAT Opportunity

AHS is proud to offer the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) to our students.  Whether you are thinking about attending a two- or four- year college, a job training program, or aren't sure what you want to do after high school, the PSAT/NMSQT can help make your career goals and postsecondary path clearer.  If juniors are interested in taking the PSAT, they should complete this form: PSAT Opt-in

Results from the PSAT/NMSQT provide insights into your academic strengths, along with areas you can work on while still in high school.  Additionally, most AHS students take the PSAT in grade 10.  Taking this exam again in grade 11 will help you be able to see your progress from last year.

Taking the PSAT/NMSQT can also help you to:

  • Enter the National Merit Scholarship Program if you meet program requirements specified in the PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide.

  • Understand your skills and knowledge and which areas to focus on improving.

  • Practice and prepare for the SAT.

  • Find out what AP courses you are ready to take.

  • Plan and pay for college.

  • Explore personalized career insights that align to your score.

The PSAT will be administered during the school day on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 using your school issued Chromebook.   The cost of the exam is $20 for Juniors.  Again, please complete this form to reserve your test by Friday, September 20.  Notes: Students must be logged into their @attleborops.net accounts to complete the form. All grade 10 students will be provided this opportunity and no registration is necessary.

Grade 12: SAT Opportunity

AHS is happy to offer the SAT School Day to our grade 12 students who choose to take the exam.  We plan to administer the test on Wednesday, October 23 during the school day. This is a convenient alternative to the Saturday administration as it can help you minimize the need to juggle weekend commitments. If seniors are interested in taking the SAT during the school day, they should complete this form: SAT Opt-in

The cost of the exam is $68. The College Board does not allow SAT fee waivers for school day administrations.  Once your test is ordered, you will be notified where and how to pay for your exam.

This test will be administered digitally.  Students will use their own  school-issued device.  To register, please complete this form by September 20.  Students must be logged into their @attleborops.net accounts to complete the form. DO NOT REGISTER THROUGH COLLEGE BOARD FOR THIS ADMINISTRATION.

New Aspen Log-in Screen

On Friday evening, the login screen for Aspen will be getting an updated look... but don't worry, you'll still use the same login and password to access the site as usual. This new login screen is the first part in a series of upgrades designed to make the site more secure for families, students, teachers, and staff. If you have any questions, please contact your house office.
