School Committee meetings are open to the public.

The Attleboro School Committee is a nine member board. Three members are elected at large, the remainder represent wards 1-6. The Chair of the School Committee is elected by School Committee members when they assume office in January.

Meet your School Committee

The School Committee determines overall School Department policy and budget. The School Committee meets at 7:00pm on the first and third Monday of each month (except July and August or when otherwise posted) in the Room 178E, 100 Rathbun Willard Drive, Attleboro, MA.

School Committee Policy


School Boards govern by policies, which have the force of law. In addition to the School Committee Policy Book available in the Superintendent's Office, commonly requested policies are available on the School Committee Policy Page. Policies posted for hearing will be available on that same page under the title "Supporting documents for School Committee Agenda Items".

  • - Policies provide the basic means to govern schools.
  • - Policies provide direction to and through the superintendent regarding district operations
  • - Policies define working relationships among various components of the school system
  • - Policies communicate the Board's vision for learning and achievement
  • - Policies state goals, purposes, and aspirations

The School Board establishes and maintains the district's top priority on student learning through policy development and review. Policy development provides an opportunity for new ideas on student learning, evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing programs, and realigns course offerings or provides new programs and course offerings.
